About

Silas Ingles is a self taught artist creating acrylic paintings, illustrations and textile pieces in Mulubinba/ Newcastle, New South Wales.

His paintings and illustrations incorporate aspects of the natural environment, frequently employing flora and fauna as symbols to communicate identity, feelings, and his unique lived experiences as a queer and neurodivergent person. Informed by a background in natural history illustration and graphic design, his work frequently combines distinct graphic elements with more realistically depicted, figurative forms.

Looking ahead, Silas hopes to find a pathway into studying art at a formal level and to continue developing new ideas and creative projects.
